PENSACOLA, Fla. - In the night cap of the season opening double header, West Florida (2-0) was able to outlast Rollins (0-2) and a walk-off walk in the bottom of the ninth sealed the win and opening day sweep for the Argonauts. With bases loaded Jon Reed drew a five pitch walk, which pushed Kyle Brown across the plate for the game winning run.
Similar to game one Rollins was first to score when they put up a run in the first inning. After a pair of walks and fly outs to start the inning, put two runners in scoring position with two outs, Jesse More singled in the first run of the game.
West Florida evened the score with their first run of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. Eric Kroll led off the inning with a walk and would advance into scoring position after a sacrifice bunt. The next hitter Gregg Burkel slapped a shot through the left side of the infield driving in Kroll from second.
The score would remain 1-1 until the ninth inning. Brown, who went 5-for-5 in the game, got things started with a single through the left side of the infield. After a pair of walks loaded the bases, Reed stepped to the plate with two outs and the senior picked up his second walk of the day, which was good for the game winning RBI.
