YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown State (9-18, 5-12) shot its way past Green Bay (13-13, 7-9) by a 76-73 final on Wednesday night at the Beeghly Center. The loss was the fourth in a row for the Phoenix and snapped a five-game winning streak against the Penguins.

Both teams shot better than 50 percent from the field, but YSU made 64.7 percent of its attempts from 3-point range (11-for-17). Green Bay was just 5 of 17 from long distance (29.4 percent).

The trio of Byron Davis (23), Vytas Sulskis (20) and John Barber (19) accounted for 62 of the Penguins' 76 points on 9 of 13 shooting from beyond the arc.

Despite YSU's shooting, Green Bay led 38-37 at intermission and held a six-point lead with 15:18 left to play. However, Youngstown State hit three successive 3-pointers, the last was a four-point play, to take the lead, 51-47, just 90 seconds later.

Green Bay trailed by seven with nine minutes left, but regained the lead (64-63) on three free throws by Ryan Tillema at the 5:09 mark. The advantage was extremely short-lived, as 15 seconds later the Penguins went on top for good.

After a pair of YSU misses at the line with three seconds left, Green Bay raced down to try to knot the score, but was unable to get a shot off before the horn.

Terry Evans led a quartet of double-figure Phoenix scorers with 14 points. Randy Berry posted 13, while Tillema had 11 points and a team-best seven boards. Troy Cotton scored 10 points in his fifth starting assignment of the season.

Green Bay now finishes up the regular season with three straight home games, beginning Saturday with the O'Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters game against Western Michigan. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.
