GREEN BAY, Wis. - Green Bay Phoenix freshman point guard Rahmon Fletcher (Kansas City, Mo.) received a pair of postseason honors from two separate national basketball publications this week. Collegeinsider.com named Fletcher to its Mid-Major Freshman All-America team, while CollegeHoops.net picked him to its Mid-Major All-Freshman honorable mention squad.

Fletcher, who was previously named to the All-Newcomer team for the Horizon League, started 26 games for the Phoenix in 2007-08 and ranked seventh in the conference in assists (3.2 per game). He also averaged 10.1 points per contest and shot better than 50 percent on the season, a figure that also ranked among the league's top 10.

In addition, Fletcher finished among the league's top 10 in steals at 1.2 per outing. The league's lone starting freshman point guard averaged 24.2 minutes per game, the fifth most on the team. His breakthrough game came at South Dakota State, when he poured in 29 points on 12-of-14 shooting from the field.

Collegeinsider.com, which was established in 1996, is a web site that focuses on mid-major college basketball programs and runs a top-25 mid-major poll all season. Since being mentioned in a 2001 issue of Sports Illustrated, the web site's poll has been nationally recognized. The Green Bay freshman was selected by a combination of Division I coaches, NBA scouts and the collegeinsider.com staff. The Collegehoops.net award was given by the web site's staff writers.
