MILWAUKEE - The Green Bay men's tennis team posted its first match win of the season Saturday with its 6-1 win over Eastern Illinois in a neutral court contest.

In doubles action, Green Bay claimed the point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. In the top slot, Tim Prudlow and Mark Goldin posted an 8-5 victory while Brian Zaron and Eric Plaushines were victorious at No. 3 doubles.

Green Bay put the match away in singles play thanks to a pair of tiebreaker victories at No. 3 and No. 6 singles. Matt Clegg came back from a second-set setback for a 7-5, 4-6 (10-3) win at No. 3 while Plaushines got his second win of the day with a 6-4, 6-7 (10-8) thriller.

Goldin also was a two-time winner, posting a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles while Zaron tallied a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 5 singles for his second win of the day.

Matt Keesey wrapped up Green Bay's wins with a 7-5, 6-1 victory at the No. 4 singles slot.

Green Bay returns to action Sunday with a 10 a.m. contest against Southern Illinois.
