Men's Tennis Can't Get Past Cleveland State, 6-1
April 12, 2008
CLEVELAND - The Green Bay men's tennis team ran into a hot Cleveland State team Saturday, as the Vikings topped the visiting Phoenix 6-1. Sophomore Matt Clegg had a strong outing for the Phoenix, posting the team's lone point with his 6-4, 6-4 straight set win at No. 3 singles. He also paired with teammate Matt Keesey for a 9-7 win at No. 2 doubles, but Green Bay could not get another doubles win for the first point of the day. Freshman John Brough nearly posted a win at No. 4 singles after a 7-6 (4) win in the first set, but Cleveland State's Chris Klepatz rallied for the three-set victory. Mike Wesley was the lone other Phoenix winner, as he had an 8-5 singles win in exhibition play. The Phoenix concludes the regular season Sunday with its final dual against Wright State in Valparaiso, Ind. |
