Porath Named Horizon League Player of the Week



Rachel Porath earned Horizon League Player of the Week honors Monday.

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Junior guard Rachel Porath, a member of the Green Bay women's basketball team, was named the Horizon League Player of the Week Monday, as announced by the league office. Porath's player of the week honor is her third of the season.

Porath had a big week for Green Bay in a pair of home wins as the team tallied its ninth consecutive 20-win season.

Against Valparaiso Feb. 14, Porath notched her second double-double of the season with 19 points to go with a career-tying high 12 rebounds. Along with adding a team-high four steals, Porath went 5-of-7 from three-point range to pace the Phoenix.

Then, against Butler Feb. 16, Porath blew up with a 6-of-7 three-point shooting effort, including five treys in the first half, on her way to a career-high 22 points in 26 minutes of work. Porath's effort ranks second best in team history.

On the year, Porath leads Green Bay with 14.2 points per game and is second on the team both in rebounds (5.6 rpg) and steals (2.0 spg). She also leads the NCAA in three-point percentage (.505) and is among the nation's leaders in field goal percentage (.577).
