Green Bay Women's Golf Finishes Sixth at League Championships



Allison Winter paced the team with a 23rd-place finish at the Horizon League Championships.

CARMEL, Ind. - The inaugural season for the Green Bay women's golf team came to a close Sunday afternoon as the Phoenix placed sixth at the Horizon League Championships. Green Bay finished the 54-hole event with a score of 1,137 (+273), while Butler won its fourth straight title with a sum of 954 (+90).

Allison Winter (Shawano, Wis.) was the top finisher for the Phoenix, as she carded a three-round 265 (+49) to place 23rd individually. She had a pair of 86s on Saturday and a 93 in Sunday's final round.

Ellyn Hansen (Milton, Wis.) placed 26th with a 268 (+52). On Sunday, she netted a round of 83, the best by a Phoenix golfer during the tournament. Her final round scorecard included seven pars and a birdie.

Anne Mandich (De Pere, Wis.) finished 28th with a score of 297 (+81), ahead of teammates Madaline Selig (Green Bay, Wis.), who had a 307 (+91), and Jessica Guzek (De Pere, Wis.), who posted a 340 (+124). Mandich and Selig gave the Phoenix three players who notched their best rounds of the event on Sunday.
