GREEN BAY, Wis. - Green Bay softball coach Jean Rivett announced the signing of Amanda Pozolinski (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly), Ashleigh Racer (Waterford, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Alexandra Rivera (Geneseo, Ill./Geneseo) for the 2008-09 season. All three players signed National Letters of Intent and will enroll at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in the fall.

"I've never been so excited about three kids coming in before," Rivett said. "All three come from winning programs and well-coached programs. They're all very intense and very passionate about the game and I think they're going to help us take the program to the next level."

Pozolinski, a right fielder at Kimberly High School, helped her team to a Fox Valley Association championship and the Division I state title in 2007. Her batting average was an impressive .396 and she was chosen as a member of the all-conference second team. In addition, Pozolinski's summer team, the Kimberly Cardinals, won the Amateur Softball Association Class B national championship in 2007. She is the daughter of Mike and Judy Pozolinski.

Racer, a catcher/outfielder at Wisconsin Lutheran High School, was a first-team all-state selection and first-team All-Wisconsin Little Ten Conference pick as a catcher in 2007. She was also a second-team all-conference catcher as a sophomore and a first-team all-conference outfielder as a freshman. She is the daughter of Craig Racer and Linda Schlieper.

Rivera, the captain of her high school team, was a member of the North Central Illinois Conference first team three consecutive years in softball. She was also chosen to the Quad-Cities All-Metro first team three straight seasons. Rivera not only succeeded in softball, but she also excelled on the basketball court, as she was the QC All-Metro Player of the Year and her team's most valuable player in 2008. The daughter of Elvin and Kim Rivera, she was a member of the National Honor Society and the NCIC Academic All-Conference team.
