Hetebrueg Named Horizon League Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

MILWAUKEE - For the second time in three weeks, junior Andy Hetebrueg of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team has been named the Horizon League's U.S. Army Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced today. Hetebrueg helped UWM to a 2-2 week, including taking two of three games from Butler on the weekend. He earned the victory in Sunday's contest, striking out a career-high seven batters in seven innings of work. Hetebrueg started two other games in the field (one at first base, one at third base), collecting two hits and scoring twice. Complete Horizon League Release in PDF Format
Academically, Hetebrueg boasts a 3.79 grade-point average as a marketing major. He has been on the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll, as well as the League All-Academic Team, while also being named to the Dean's Honor List at UWM. Hetebrueg was also honored on ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District Team last season. Hetebrueg is the seventh UWM athlete, and fifth male, to earn the weekly honor this school year, which is in its second year and encompasses all sports sponsored by the league. The Horizon League instituted the Scholar-Athlete of the Week awards last year as a way to recognize outstanding academic and athletic achievement by its student-athletes.
