Continuing his impressive start to the season, Leibold won the 1,650-yard freestyle (16:19.92) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:42.26) in a double-dual against University of Illinois at Chicago and North Dakota this past weekend. He also earned third-place in the 200-yard butterfly (1:55.67). Leibold now has nine wins in 14 races this season.

In the classroom, Leibold has earned recognition as a member of the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll and the Dean's Honor List at UWM. Last year, Leibold was named a member of the Academic All-League Team, as well as a two-time U.S. Army Scholar-Athlete. He carries a 3.845 grade-point average as a health sciences major.

Leibold is the third different UWM athlete to earn the weekly honor this year, which is in its second year and encompasses all sports sponsored by the league. He had previously joined Zeke Dombrowski of the men's soccer team (Oct. 9) as an award winner this school year. Beth Steuer of the women's soccer team was also selected Nov. 6.

The Horizon League instituted the Scholar-Athlete of the Week awards last year as a way to recognize outstanding academic and athletic achievement by its student-athletes.
