Milwaukee Divers Sweep Weekly Horizon League Honors

Marks third time this season they have swept awards

MILWAUKEE - Junior Ashley Hall and sophomore Patrick Rongitsch of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee diving teams have been named the Female and Male Horizon League Diver of the Week, the league office announced today.

This marks the third time this season where they have swept the weekly league honors. The duo was also recognized Nov. 13 and Oct. 17 earlier this season.

Hall was also honored as the Horizon League Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the performance Tuesday by the league office.

Hall competed against 15 other teams at the Miami (OH) Invitational, where she placed first overall on the three-meter board with a season-high total of 296.05. She also earned third-place on the one-meter board (269.90). Both scores were NCAA Zone-Qualifying totals.

Rongitsch was the top Panther finisher in each diving event at the Miami (OH) Invitational, where he competed against 12 other Division I programs. He placed seventh overall in the finals on the one-meter board with a score of 217.45 after posting a 259.60 total in the preliminaries. He also placed third in the three-meter with a score of 312.10.

This is the third award for the Panther women this year after winning league swimmer or diver accolades 12 times last season and also the third for the Panther men this year after winning league swimmer or diver accolades twice last season.

The team opens the home schedule this Friday, hosting South Dakota State Friday at 6:30 p.m.
