Panthers Wrap Up First Day Of Big Blue Classic
CHARLESTON, Ill. (April 4, 2008) - Junior Adam Schleis took third in the long jump to lead four top-five finishers for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track and field team at the Big Blue Classic Friday at Eastern Illinois. Schleis leapt 22-3 ½ for his third-place finish in the long jump, while senior Darren Cole was sixth with a jump of 21-8. Senior Justin Bohler finished among the top five in two events, taking fourth in the javelin with a throw of 147-11. He also competed in the 400m hurdles, taking fifth in 55.93. Junior Patrick Casey was seventh in 56.24 and junior Josh Zill was 14th in 59.96 Senior Larry Ehrhorn threw a career-best 162-9 in the hammer throw to take fifth place in the event. In fact, his throw was a personal best by nine feet, eight inches (153-1). Two more Panthers competed on the first day of the meet in junior Eric Pitt and freshman Jason Axt. Pitt finished 10th in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:07.9 and Axt was 10th in the 5000m in 16:02.34. Milwaukee continues its weekend at the Big Blue Classic Saturday.
