It was a record-breaking season for the Wright State swimming and diving teams as the men's squad set 11 new records and won the Horizon League title while the women broke 20 records and finished second at the League meet.
Led by Horizon League Co-Swimmer of the Meet and Co-Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Year Nathan Demchuk, the men won their second straight League crown, winning by 119 points over runner-up Cleveland State. WSU has now won five of the last six Horizon League championships and has claimed nine conference championships in the history of the program.
The Raiders won nine of 21 events at the League meet and set two new conference and school records in the process in Warren Thompson winning the 200 fly and the team of LeRoux Pelser, Scott Lang, Micah Belew and Demchuk taking the 800 free relay.
Overall, the men's squad set five school and four pool records in finishing with a dual meet mark of 7-3.
On the women's side, the Raiders finished second behind Green Bay for the second consecutive year. Jessica Weidert was selected as the Horizon League Swimmer of the Meet and Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Year after setting new League records in winning the 200 breast, 200 IM and 400 IM.
Like the men, the women won nine of 21 events at the League meet and along with Weidert's three records, the Raiders set five other new marks in Mabel Fernandez and the 200 free, Krystyna Wieczerzak in the 200 back, the 200 free relay team of Vicky Tafur, Kelsey Cooper, Kassie Schmidt and Fernandez, the 400 free relay team of Cooper, Tafur, Schmidt and Fernandez and the 800 free relay team of Wieczerzak, Cooper, Tafur and Fernandez.

Sion Brinn was named as the League's Swimming Coach of the Year on the men's side, marking the third time that Brinn has been honored by the League in the three years that he has been at the helm of the Raiders.
