Wright State appears in the top 100 in three categories as a team and four times individually as the final Division I women's basketball stat rankings were released following the national championship game earlier this week.
Freshman guard Shey Peddy, who was the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year as well as being selected to both the First Team and the All-Defensive Team, finished 73rd in scoring at 16.7 points per game. That average was good for third among all Division I freshmen, trailing just Maya Moore of Connecticut (17.8) and Jantel Lavender of Ohio State (17.6).
Peddy also ranked 13th in steals per game at 3.2 per contest, making her the top freshman in that category, and was 29th in field goal percentage at .539, putting her sixth among freshman overall and the leader at the guard position.
Senior Whitney Lewis finished second in three-point percentage at .475, trailing only Sonya Rogers of Montana, who was at .486.
Team wise, the Raiders wee 17th in three-point percentage at .370, 30th in field goal percentage overall at .442 and 44th in steals per game at 10.3
After starting the season 2-8, the Raiders closed the regular season by winning 12 of 19 games, which included tying for second place in the Horizon League with an 11-7 mark. The #2 seed in the League tournament, Wright State advanced to the championship game for the second time in four years before falling to Cleveland State.
