Game One Box Score | Game Two Box Score
The Wright State softball team smacked seven home runs on the day and behind shutout pitching from Allison Cox and Heather Bauer, swept a doubleheader at crosstown rival Dayton on Tuesday, the Raiders winning 7-0 in the opener and 8-0 in the nightcap.
Game one was scoreless until WSU exploded for five runs in the fourth. Mollie Berry started the inning by hitting the second pitch she saw over the fence in right center for her fourth home run of the season. Ashleigh Jackson then hit a solo shot of her own to left, her fourth of the year, and Justine Shilt made it back-to-back-to-back home runs, all by freshmen, with her third of the season, a blast to right.
The final two runs of the fourth came on a bases-loaded walk to Kristen Bradshaw and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Allison Cox.
Wright State tacked on two more in the sixth as Michelle Logan scored on a wild pitch and Cox drove in another with a fielder's choice.
Along with her two RBIs, Cox had a big game in the circle as she pitched a five-hit shutout to improve to 3-3 on the year. The sophomore scattered five hit and did not walk a batter in striking out three.
Louie Haney paced the Raider offense in the opener with three hits while Shilt and Briauna Birl each had two.

The Raiders then forced the run-rule with four more in the sixth as Bradshaw drilled a three-run home run off the scoreboard in left center, her eighth of the year, and Jackson later hit her second of the day to left.
Heather Bauer (2-1) threw six shutout innings to earn the complete-game victory, allowing just three hits. Offensively, Bradshaw finished with three hits in the second game while Shilt had two.
Wright State, now 24-22 on the season, returns to Horizon League play on Thursday as the Raiders close out the home portion of their schedule with a 3:00 doubleheader against Valparaiso.
