Final Stats

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Winston-Salem State University men's tennis team fell in defeat to Coastal Carolina University by the score of 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at the City of Myrtle Beach Tennis Center as the Rams dropped to 0-2 on the season.

The Chanticleers earned a clean sweep in the doubles matches as Brian Coxton and Ian Hunter were no match for Dmitry Vlaskin and Plamen Tzvetkov at first doubles; Troy Moore and Patrick Jenkins fell 8-0 to Carlo Checchia and John Hairston; and Ryan Lindquist and Daren Milbourne dropped an 8-0 decision to Ross Da Silva and Omar El Bouskouri as CCU earned the doubles point.

The Rams fared no better in singles play as Coastal Carolina swept all six singles matches as WSSU scored only nine game victories over the course of six matches as CCU earned straight-set victories at first through sixth singles.

The loss drops the Rams to 0-2 on the season as Coastal Carolina improves to 2-2 overall with the win.

WSSU returns to action at 2:00 pm at the WSSU Tennis Complex as they face the Mountaineers of Appalachian State University.
