Norfolk State Men's Tennis Downs Winston-Salem State, 7-0 :: The WSSU Rams fall in defeat in Norfolk, Virginia

NORFOLK, VA - The Winston-Salem State University men's tennis team came up short on Tuesday afternoon in Norfolk, VA as they were downed by the Spartans of Norfolk State University in men's tennis action by the score of 7-0 as the Rams suffered their 15^th sweep of the 2007-08 season.

The Rams were swept at all six singles slots as only Brian Coxton, Ryan Lindquist, Troy Moore and Andrew Jones scored points in the singles matches.

WSSU's most exciting singles match came at sixth singles where Andrew Jones fell in defeat to Keenan Ruff in a three-set marathon match by the score of 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7 tiebreak).

The Spartans swept all three doubles matches en route to the doubles points as NSU's pairing of Miroslav Vlcek and Petr Krakora defeated WSSU's Brian Coxton and Maximilian Glodde at first doubles 8-3; Vassil Zahariev and Bogdan Yordanov defeated Troy Moore and Ian Hunter 8-3 at second doubles and NSU's Roman DelCastillo and Keenan Ruff defeated WSSU's Ryan Lindquist and Andrew Jones 8-2 at third doubles.

The Rams fall to 1-17 overall with the loss while the Spartans improve to 2-5 overall with the win.

Winston-Salem State returns to action on Tuesday, March 25 as they travel to Greensboro, NC to face Guilford College.
