The Lady Rams needed only eight hits in the game as Savannah State recorded five errors, four of them coming in the bottom of the first inning as WSSU smashed five hits, three for extra bases in the first frame as Winston-Salem State took a commanding 9-0 lead, an advantage that they would never surrender on the day.

Shore helped her own cause at the plate as well as she collected a three-run single in the contest providing all the run support that she would need on the afternoon. Bonika Terry and Desiree Ramirez collected multiple-hit games in the win as well.
The win improves the Lady Rams to 12-9 overall while the Lady Tigers fall to 3-24 with the loss.
The two teams return to action at 3:00 p.m. when they square off in the second game of the twin-bill.
