WSSU junior infielder Kendall Sutton had the best day at the plate for the Lady Rams scoring a pair of runs and going one-for-three from the plate. Left fielder Lonnie Jones was also solid at the plate with two hits and a run scored in the game.
The two teams were scoreless for the first four innings of the game, but a single by WSSU sophomore pitcher Ashley Boswell drove in junior infielder Kendall Sutton to open the scoring in the game. Florida A&M would respond with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning to put the home team on top, 2-1. The Lady Rams would carry the deficit into the seventh inning when the team would make its stand.
WSSU's Whitney Wright would drive in the first run of the inning, scoring Sutton. The Lady Rams would strike again to regain the lead when freshman outfielder Candace Spinks' single drove in Lonnie Jones and put the Lady Rams ahead, 3-2. The home team would end the Lady Rams' hopes, however, with a pair of runs, including a walk-off two-RBI single that would end the game.
The Lady Rams will return to action tomorrow when the Lady Rams take on the Lady Rattlers in a noon single game.
