GREENSBORO, NC - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (15-14) turned up the defense, but fell to the North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies (17-11-1), 3-0, Sunday afternoon. The Lady Rams battled all seven innings, but couldn't get any runs across the plate in the loss. The shutout was the first time that the Lady Rams were held scoreless in over a month.
The Lady Rams struggled mightily at the plate with just two hits in the game. WSSU freshmen Candace Spinks and Brittany Hull were the only two players with hits in the loss.
A first inning RBI groundout scored the first N.C. A&T run of the game and was the only run scored for either team for the first five innings of the game. A sixth-inning two-run home run would cap the loss for the Lady Rams.
The Lady Rams will return to action tomorrow afternoon when the same two teams will face off in single 1:00 p.m. game at the Lady Aggie Softball Complex in
