CANYON, Texas - In the final match-up of a four-game series against East Central, the West Texas A&M baseball team struggled offensively as they fell, 10-0, in eight innings at Conner Park on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Buffs fall to 3-7 overall and 2-5 in league play; WT split the four-game series with Lone Star Conference foe ECU.

Senior Eric Henderson (1-2) took the loss for the Buffs, giving up nine runs on 12 hits while also striking out six batters in six and one-third innings pitched.

At the plate, senior outfielder Justin Graham was 2-for-3 on the day while senior catcher Kevin Els and junior first baseman Will McLaughlin went 1-for-3.

The game remained scoreless until the fifth inning, when the ECU bats exploded for six runs on six hits and a WT error. East Central followed up with three runs in the seventh before freshman Spencer Head took over on the mound. Head was able to end the inning, but the Grapevine, Texas, native allowed another run to score in the eighth inning as the Tigers went ahead, 10-0.

Freshman transfer Zane Cook came in to pitch in the eighth and turned a double play with the bases loaded - throwing out Tiger Clint Bowker at the plate - then struck out ECU's Jared Owen to end the inning.

The Buffs were unable to get on base in the bottom of the eighth inning, as Greg Shanks popped up to second, Jake Parsons struck out and Darby Walker grounded out to second.

West Texas A&M travels to Hobbs, N.M., next week for a double header against the College of the Southwest on Feb. 26; the Buffs' next home game is scheduled for March 4, when they host Oklahoma Panhandle State at 2 p.m.
