Lady Buffs End Play with 4-3 Record at LSC Crossover

DURANT, Okla. - The Lady Buffs ended their solid run at the 2008 Lone Star Conference crossover on Sunday, dropping a game to Central Oklahoma, 7-2, and six-inning affair to Northeastern State, 8-0, to conclude the event with a 4-3 mark.

The Lady Buffs (19-24) return home next weekend when they jump back into LSC South play by hosting Tarleton State at in a three-game series at Lady Buff Yard. On Sunday during the series, WT will team up with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Greater Amarillo affiliate) and the Woman's Imaging Center at the Northwest Texas Healthcare System to "Paint the Yard Pink". The event is intended to raise awareness for breast cancer research and more information can be found here.

Game #1 Recap - (Central Oklahoma 7, West Texas A&M 2)
After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the second, the Lady Buffs were undone in the top of the third frame as the Bronchos plated six unearned runs off WT starter Andrea Renteria.

Renteria collected her 15th complete game of the season, but was tagged with the loss despite not allowing an earned run.

The Lady Buffs attempted to rally, scoring an unearned run in the bottom of the third and getting a RBI single from freshman Kaitlyn Witte in the fifth, but it was not enough to down UCO, which ended play at the tournament 7-0..

Game #2 Recap - (Northeastern State 8 - West Texas A&M 0 - Six Innings)
The RiverHawks got off to a good start in the game as they plated a pair of runs off Lady Buff pitcher Shannon O'Dea in the game's opening half inning.

O'Dea, who pitched in all seven of the Lady Buffs' games at the tournament, took the loss in the circle for WT.

NSU would go on to post runs in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to secure the win.
