LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The Wyoming track and field program announced today that Kelly Gray, one of the top track and field athletes in the state of Wyoming, has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Wyoming next fall.

Gray, a native of Rock Springs, Wyo., brings a very impressive resume to the Wyoming track and field program. Gray, one of the top throwers in the state of Wyoming, was the runner up in the shot-put at the 2007 Wyoming Class 4A Track and Field Championships as a junior. She earned All-State honors this indoor season, 2007-08, for all classifications. She was also an All-State performer for both indoor and outdoor track in 2007. Academically, Gray is interested in occupational therapy.

"Kelly is one of the top returning throwers in the state of Wyoming and we are very excited that she has decided to come to the University of Wyoming," said UW assistant coach Paul Barrett. "She has a tall, athletic build that shows the possibility for strong development in the future. She excels in the shot-put but also has spent some time with the hammer/weight throw and the discus so we look for her to become a combination type thrower for us. With some time and development, Kelly will develop into a solid level conference competitor at Wyoming."
