Lee Cummard scored 25 points and pulled down eight rebounds Saturday to lead Brigham Young to a 73-63 victory over Wyoming.

Wyoming (8-12, 2-6 Mountain West) pulled to 54-53 midway through the second half, but the Cowboys had no answer for Cummard.

BYU's leading scorer put up nine points in the final eight minutes, including a conventional 3-point play that highlighted a 14-4 run by the Cougars (17-5, 6-1).

Trent Plaisted scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for BYU. Jonathan Tavernari added 10 points and 10 rebounds while Sam Burgess scored another 10 for the Cougars.

Brad Jones led Wyoming with 13 points while Tyson Johnson and Brandon Ewing added 12 each.

The Cougars hit four 3-pointers during a 20-10 run to open the game. Wyoming answered with a 21-8 surge to take a 31-28 lead with 3:20 left in the first half. But Cummard scored the period's final five points to give the Cougars a 37-35 halftime advantage.
