The Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball team will host the Colorado State Rams, on Wednesday, February 27, in the Arena Auditorium. The game is set to tip off at 7:00 p.m.

"I'm expecting an extremely competitive game from Colorado State," said UW head coach Joe Legerski. "They played well the last time we faced them and I don't see it being any different tomorrow night. We will have to play well to come away with a victory, and this will be a great basketball game."

Wyoming is currently 22-4 overall and 10-3 in conference play after a 55-44 victory over the San Diego State Aztecs and an 88-78 win over UNLV this past week. The Cowgirls also moved back in to the Associated Press Poll with a 24th ranking. Senior Hanna Zavecz leads the way for UW with 13.6 points and 3.6 assists. She is followed by fellow senior Justyna Podziemska who is adding 12.9 points and 5.8 rebounds, while Aubrey Vandiver is chipping in 11.0 points and a team leading six rebounds per game. The Cowgirls are leading the MWC in scoring defense allowing just 53.0 points per contest and blocked shots (5.3 bpg). They are also shooting .417 (567-1361) from the field, .333 (180-540) from beyond the arc and .711 (364-512) from the free throw line.

Colorado State is currently 2-23 overall and 0-12 in the Mountain West Conference after a 62-53 loss against Air Force on Sunday afternoon. CSU is led by Sara Hunter who is averaging 9.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. She is followed by Juanise Cornell who is adding 7.2 points and 6.6 rebounds. They return two starters and four letterwinners to a team that went 8-21 overall and 3-13 in the MWC a year ago. This is the 77th meeting between the two schools. Colorado State leads the series 40-36. The last time the two teams met was January 26, 2008 as the Cowgirls defeated the Rams 68-55 in Fort Collins. Colorado State is coached by Jen Warden who is in her third season with the program.
