LARAMIE, Wyo. - The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team (10-8 overall, 1-3 in the MWC) opened up the weekend with a 4-2 loss against the BYU Cougars, on Saturday afternoon, in Laramie. The Cougars took four of six singles matches in a close fought match. They would win matches at one, two, three and five. At the number four position, UW's Sarah Summerfield defeated Elizaveta Ezhova, 6-2, 6-3. Cowgirl Brittany DeFelice also earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Jocelyn Jensen. Wyoming senior Corina Lazar was defeated by Anastasia Surkova, 7-6, 6-1, while UW's Rebecca Berger lost 6-4 ,6-3 to Kristina Doerr. Cowgirl Carly Van Hollen fell to Chie Hayasaka, 6-4, 7-5, while Wyoming senior Michelle Brown battled it ou to a three set loss, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2. Doubles were scheduled but not played. Wyoming will play their final home match tomorrow against the Utah Utes. The match is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. BYU 4 Wyoming 2
