Cowgirl Tennis Set to Host Lady Cats

Feb. 14, 2008

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team will host one of their five regular season matches of the spring this weekend. They welcome the Montana State Lady Cats, on Friday, February 15, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The match will be played at the Indoor UW Tennis Courts and admission is free.

"We are very excited about playing at home for the first time this spring," said UW head coach Krissy Hall. "It will be a great opportunity to showcase our abilities in front of the great Wyoming fans."

The Cowgirls enter this week's competition with an overall record of 3-3 overall after earning a split with Drake and Nebraska last weekend. Wyoming is currently led by senior Michelle Brown with an overall mark of 11-5 in singles play. Freshman Rebecca Berger follows her with a 10-8 record overall.

The Lady Cats enter the week currently 2-0 overall. This is the ninth meeting between the two teams. Wyoming leads the series 6-2. The last time the two teams met was January 27, 2006 as the Cowgirls defeated the Lady Cats, 4-3.
