RENSSELAER, Ind. - In the second game of Tuesday afternoon's doubleheader, the Wayne State baseball team (10-9) was shut out, 5-0, at eighth-ranked St. Joseph's College (25-4).

SJC starter Tyler Buhlig took a no-hitter into the fifth inning when Derek Ranck (Clarkston, Mich.) hit a leadoff single. Charlie Dunneback's (Lansing, Mich./Grand Ledge) singled in the sixth, and consecutive base hits in the seventh by Ryan LaPensee (LaSalle, Ont./St. Thomas of Villanova) and Ranck accounted for the remainder of the Warriors' offense.

Matt Wille's RBI single in the bottom of the first gave SJC a 1-0 lead, and four unearned runs in the fourth stemming from two WSU errors and a three-run triple by Matt Reimer made it a 5-0 game.

Brady Cooper (Allen Park, Mich.) made his first start of the season and surrendered five runs (one earned) on five hits in five innings. He also walked two and struck out two. Tom Olson (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) pitched a scoreless sixth inning.

Wayne State will head to Western Michigan for a nine-inning game Wednesday before opening its home schedule this weekend against Hillsdale.
