Starting pitcher Dane Little (Windsor, Ont./F.J. Brennan Catholic) took a three-hit shutout into the sixth before Maguire's blast over the wall in right center opened up a 4-2 Laker lead.

Pat Radde added a solo shot to right in the seventh to make it a 5-2 game.

GVSU starter Brad Raj (6-1) went the distance for the Lakers, allowing just two runs on six hits with two walks and nine strikeouts. Little (4-4) lasted seven innings and surrendered five runs on nine hits with a walk and a strikeout.
