DETROIT - Wayne State University redshirt sophomore Joe Juszczyk (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Divine Child) was named GLIAC Men's Golf Co-Athlete of the Week following a strong performance last weekend at the second NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Tournament, held at Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Ky.
Juszczyk shared the conference award with Northwood University junior Jason Dunlop, as both golfers carded two-round totals of 138 (-6) to tie for medalist honors. Juszczyk, who was the only player in the field to shoot under 70 both days (69-69--138), tied Ryan Johnson's school record for 36 holes.
As a team, the Warriors recorded the lowest combined score on Sunday and finished in fifth place (295-287--582, +6).
The next competition for WSU will be at the Outback Steakhouse Invitational (Sycamore Springs G.C.) beginning Friday in Arlington, Ohio.
