DETROIT - Wayne State sophomore goaltender Brett Bothwell (Red Deer, Alb./Yorkton Terriers) was named College Hockey America Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in last weekend's split at Bemidji State.

Bothwell stopped 28 of the 30 shots he faced and held BSU to a 1-for-7 mark on the power-play in Friday's 3-2 victory, his third straight win. He followed that with a 31-save performance in Saturday's 4-3 overtime setback.

This marks Bothwell's second career CHA weekly award, as he earned Rookie of the Week honors last January 22.

Wayne State hosts Robert Morris this weekend, Feb.8-9, at the Michigan State Fairgrounds Coliseum.
