Kissimmee, Fla. - The Wayne State University softball team (6-8 overall) ended a three-game losing streak with a 5-4 win over Pfeiffer (14-12 overall) in eight innings on Tuesday morning.

WSU scored four runs in the first three innings to take control of the game.

The Falcon bats were silent until the top of the seventh when they scored four runs to tie the game. The critical hit was Jaimee Cassidy's two-out single that scored two and sent the game into extra innings.

Wayne State scored in the bottom of the eighth to take a 5-4 victory.

Nicole Abel pitched the first seven innings striking out nine. Two of the four runs she allowed were earned. Molly Yetman worked a scoreless eighth inning with two strikeouts.

Meredith Boxberger, Sarah Teller and Lisa Seymour each had two hits with Amanda Van't Wout contributing a double.
