Kissimmee, Fla. - The Wayne State University softball team (7-8 overall) defeated fourth-ranked Lock Haven (7-3) 2-1 in nine innings Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Eagles were the 2006 NCAA national champions.

The game was decided using the international tie breaker format of placing one runner on second base to start each half of the inning.

WSU scored twice in the top of the ninth off Kristin Erb.

LHU scored once on an RBI by Erb in the bottom of the ninth.

Molly Yetman went the distance for WSU to earn the victory.

Erb (7-3) recorded the loss for LHU as she allowed one earned run, five hits and struck out nine Warrior batters.

After an off-day on Wednesday, Wayne State plays #2-ranked SIU-Edwardsville at 9 am on Thursday followed by a 1 p.m. contest vs. Central Missouri State.
