DETROIT - The Wayne State University softball team (19-9, 7-0 GLIAC) extended its winning streak to 11 straight with a 3-1 triumph over visiting Lake Superior (6-19, 2-5 GLIAC) in the first game of a conference twinbill on Sunday at the WSU Softball Stadium.

WSU senior pitcher Molly Yetman (Cambridge, Ont.) allowed one hit, a solo home run to Jennie Elliott leading off the second inning, while striking out 14 to improve her record to 15-2.

The Warriors scored once in the first as Lindsey Perry (Taylor, Mich./Kennedy) walked on 3-2 pitch and was sacrificed to second by Amanda Van't Wout (Guelph, Ont./Guelph Collegiate V.I.). Sarah Berry (Acton, Ont.) then drilled a 3-2 pitch up the middle for an RBI single.

After the Lakers tied the score in the top of second, WSU regained the lead in the bottom of the frame. Stephanie LeClair (Kitchener, Ont./Forest Heights C.I.) walked on four pitches, and Sarah Teller (Chesterfield Twp., Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) bunted her to second. LeClair then stole third and scored on a single to right by Jaci Banton (Richmond Hill, Ont./Cardinal Carter).

The final run of the game came in the bottom of the third as Berry doubled down the left field line leading off the inning. After a foul out, Robyn Haig (Waterloo, Ont./Waterloo C.I.) singled to center plating Berry.

Neither team could score in the final four innings.

LSSU's Stephanie Reveley (0-7) went the distance allowing three runs, all earned, on seven hits in six innings.

Berry was the only batter in the game with two hits.
