Tiffin, Ohio - The Wayne State University softball team (21-9 overall) extended its winning streak to 13 games with a 6-1 triumph at Tiffin University (17-9) in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday afternoon.
With the score tied at one in the top of the fifth, Stephanie LeClair had a one-out single. Following a pop out, Lisa Seymour drilled a two-run home run.
In the top of the seventh, Robyn Haig had a leadoff double and scored on a one-out single by Sarah Teller. Back-to-back singles by Seymour and Jaci Banton plated Teller while Seymour scored on a sacrifice fly by Lindsey Perry.
WSU senior pitcher Molly Yetman improved to 17-2 by limiting the Dragons to four hits, three of which came in the same inning producing TU's only run. Yetman struck out 13 to become WSU's all-time strikeout leader at 465.
The Warriors had seven hits with Seymour going 2-3 with two runs scored and two RBI.
