The Wayne State University softball team (20-9 overall, 8-0 GLIAC) is ranked 23rd this week in the NFCA Poll. The Warriors have won 12 straight since starting the year 8-9.

In the national statistics distributed by the NCAA this week, senior pitcher Molly Yetman (Cambridge, Ont.) is second in hits allowed per seven innings (3.04) and fourth in earned run average (0.65). She is also 10th in strikeouts per seven innings (9.8) and 23rd in victories with 16.

Other WSU players listed among the national leaders include Sarah Berry (37th in doubles per game and 84th in RBI per game) and Stephanie LeClair (37th in doubles per game and 18th in toughest to strikeout).

In terms of team rankings, WSU is 14th in earned run average (1.52), 23rd in doubles per game (1.66) and 43rd in winning percentage (.690).

The NCAA Regional ranking committee rankings for this week has WSU sixth with a 14-4 in region mark. Lewis is first (22-10 overall, 12-2 in region), and is followed by SIU-Edwardsville (26-7/12-7), Saginaw Valley (19-9/12-6), Southern Indiana (21-15/14-7) and Grand Valley (18-8/13-6). Trailing the Warriors are Indianapolis (21-18/14-6), West Virginia Wesleyan (27-11/16-7), Ferris State (13-9/10-4) and Missouri S&T (18-14/10-4). Games against NAIA or Division III schools are not included in the overall record.

WSU is slated to have four home games this weekend with doubleheaders against Saginaw Valley (Saturday at 1 pm) and Northwood (Sunday at 1 pm).
