Wayne State University softball player Lindsey Perry (Taylor, Mich./Kennedy) was named to the 2008 CoSIDA Academic All-District IV College Division Softball Second Team.
Perry was a Second Team All-GLIAC selection at first base in 2008 after earning First Team All-Great Lakes Region honors in 2007. After WSU's first game of the NCAA tournament, Perry is hitting .368 with 12 doubles and 22 runs batted in.
The District IV Academic team was selected by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) located in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama and the College Division includes student-athletes at Division II and III institutions plus NAIA schools.
This was the third consecutive year a Warrior softball player earned academic all-district accolades. Former WSU catcher and current student assistant coach Sarah Kish was a first team selection in 2007 after earning second team honors in 2006.
