GAMBIER, Ohio - Several members of the Wayne State men's and women's swimming teams competed Saturday afternoon at the Kenyon College Invitational.

The women's squad set a school record and achieved three NCAA "B" qualifiers. Haintso Rakouth (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage) made a "B" cut in the 200 freestyle (1:57.02), as did Elaina Hogle (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) in the 100 free (53.06). Hogle also earned a "B" cut in a time trial of the 100 butterfly (57.99).

The 400 medley relay combination of Sara Franklin (Caro, Mich.), Jodi Scott (Windsor, Ont./Riverside S.S.), Agata Zalewska (Swietochlowice, Poland), and Hogle set a school record of 3:56.81.

On the men's side, Cauli Bedran (Rio de Janiero, Brazil), Christer Tour (Farsta, Sweden), Sean Smith (Auburn, Mich./Bay City Western), and Matt Carlson (Plymouth, Mich./Canton) posted a time of 3:26.36 in the 400 medley relay.

Tim Giblin (Midland, Mich./Midland Dow) had a time of 47.27 in the 100 free, and Alex Davidson (Napoleon, Mich./Jackson) completed the 50 free in 21.70.

Many of the Warriors will compete at the NCAA Championship in Columbia, Mo., Mar. 12-15.
