COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Wayne State women's swimming and diving team has two "A" finalists who will compete Friday night at the NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Missouri S&T.
Elaina Hogle (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) qualified fourth in the 200 butterfly (2:05.63), and Ashley St. Andrew (Grand Rapids, Mich./Jenison) came in third in the 500 freestyle (4:59.79).
Catherine Leix (Flint, Mich./Southwestern) narrowly missed the cutoff for the "B" final in the 500 free, finishing 17th in a time of 5:09.36. Sara Franklin (Caro, Mich.) finished 20th in the 100 backstroke (58.70) and Agata Zalewska (Swietochlowice, Poland) placed 18th in the 200 fly (2:09.99).
The Warriors are in sixth place through the first two days of competition at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. Friday's finals, which will include the women's one-meter diving event, is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. ET.
