Men's Tennis Sweeps Northern Kentucky on Senior Day

CINCINNATI - The Xavier men's tennis team swept the Nothern Kentucky Norse, 7-0, Tuesday afternoon at the Western Tennis and Fitness Club. The Musketeers, now 11-7 overall and 4-1 in Atlantic 10 play, honored three senior team members prior to the start of the match as Brian Quinn, Brian Schubert and Adam Shaeffer played in the last home match of their careers. "The team put in a good effort today for this win," commented head coach Eric Toth. "This is a good start to a tough week as we head to nationally-ranked Louisville tomorrow." XU picked up the first point of the match by winning all three doubles matches on the day. Junior Ra'ees Ismail and sophomore J.T. Torbeck paired up for an 8-1 win over NKU's duo of Sparks and Kramer at No. 2. The Musketeers went on the win all six of the singles contests following the doubles matchups. Senior Brian Schubert downed Felipe Rossetti, 6-2, 6-2, at the three-spot. Xavier travels to Louisville, Ky. Wednesday, March 26, to take on the 38th-ranked Louisville Cardinals. First serve is set for 12 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on the campus of U of L. Results Singles
