CINCINNATI - The Xavier men's tennis team will find out who and where it will play in the 2008 NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament First Round on Tuesday, April 29. The official announcement show will air on ESPNews beginning at 2:00 p.m. and will reveal the 16 campus sites along with the 64-team pairings.

XU earned its first automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, and its first-ever appearance, by winning the 2008 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship on April 6 by defeating George Washington in the title match, 4-0.

Junior Doug Matthews was named the A-10 Men's Tennis Performer of the Year and first-year head coach Eric Toth was named Coach of the Year as voted on by league coaches. Matthews, along with junior Ra'ees Ismail and sophomore Chris Herrlinger, was also named to the A-10 All-Conference First-Team and senior Brian Schubert and sophomore J.T. Torbeck earned Second-Team honors. Ismail was also named to the A-10 Academic All-Conference Team this season, an honor he earned last year as well.
