CINCINNATI - Junior Kara Courtney has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday, April 14. This is the second weekly honor for the Newburgh, Ind., native as she was given the same honor the week of March 10.

Courtney went 6-0 on the week, winning all three singles and doubles matches she competed in. From the first flight in singles play, she defeated opponents from Northern Kentucky, 6-2, 6-0, on Apr. 9 and followed it with a 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (6) win against Cincinnati on Apr. 11.  She closed out the week with a 6-0, 6-2 victory against Dayton on Apr. 13, improving her singles record to 14-10 on the season

From No. 1 doubles, Courtney paired with classmate Jeanette Feider and took an 8-3 victory against NKU, an 8-5 win against UC and 8-3 victory against UD.
