CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Day one of the EISL Championships at Harvard's Blodgett Pool Thursday saw a pair of wins for the Bulldogs, as senior Jeffrey Lichtenstein took the 1m diving competition and junior Alex Righi three-peated as 50 freestyle champion. Righi also swam a 19.41 first leg of the 200 freestyle relay, breaking the meet, EISL and pool records in the process.

Righi's three titles in the 50 free have come with improved times each year - 19.83 as a freshman, 19.68 as a sophomore and 19.60 this year.

After Righi's record-breaking first leg, the 200 freestyle relay team (Righi, junior Chris Pool, junior Tyler Scheid and freshman Ege Gurdeniz) finished third with a time of 1:20.17, trailing Harvard (1:19.31) and Princeton (1:20.10).

Lichtenstein's score of 301.65 bested Olaf Olson of Navy (289.50). Lichtenstein was the 3m diving champion last year.

Competition continues Friday. Full results are available at the Ivy League's "Psyche Sheet" Blog.
