State College, PA - The Bulldogs improved to 2-1 on the season with a 5-2 victory over Penn State Sunday in Pennsylvania. Yale took the doubles point in the victory.

Freshmen Lindsay Clark and Lauren Ritz, the No. 50 doubles team in the country, started the Bulldogs off on a good note with an 8-4 victory over Jenny Shular and Sarah Lotto in the No. 1 doubles match. At No. 3 doubles, junior Janet Kim and senior Lindsey Dashiell secured the doubles point with an 8-4 win over Dorothy Dohanics and Katelyn BeVard.

A day after losing to the No. 19 singles player in the country, Kim bounced back with a three set victory over BeVard. After dropping the first set, Kim battled back to win the next two 6-0, 6-2.

Sophomore Jessica Rhee won her second match in as many days at No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Shualr. At No. 3 singles, sophomore Sarah Lederhandler pulled out a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 win over Lauren Holzberg. Clark defeated Lauren McCarthy at No. 5 singles 7-6 (2), 6-4.

The Bulldogs are back in action February 23 away against Boston College.
