Irvine, CA - The Bulldogs (3-6) fell to UC Irvine (9-6) 6-1 Friday in their first spring trip match in California. Junior Janet Kim won her match for Yale in the loss.

At No. 1 doubles, freshman Lindsay Clark and sophomore Jessica Rhee defeated their opponents 8-5. The Bulldogs could not win another doubles match and lost the doubles point.

Kim cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles for Yale. Freshman Stevi Petrelli fell in a hard-fought three set match at No. 4 singles 5-7, 6-3, 10-8.

Yale will take on Cal State Northridge on Monday.
