New Haven, CT - Yale (5-8, 1-0) defeated Brown 4-3 Sunday at home in its Ivy League Opener. The Bulldogs won four of the six singles matches to grab the victory.

Freshmen Lindsay Clark and Lauren Ritz cruised to straight set victories at No. 3 and 6 singles, respectively. Clark defeated her opponent Brett Finkelstein 6-1, 6-1. Ritz cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Emily Ellis. At No. 2 singles, sophomore Jessica Rhee won a 7-6 (2), 6-0 decision over Sara Mansur.

It took three sets for freshman Stevi Petrelli to seal a victory at No. 5 singles. After losing the first set in a tiebreaker, Petrelli battled back to win the next two sets 6-2, 6-4.
